I’d been steeping in research about my ancestors from this place in Tasmania so it was inevitable I’d experience the Baader-Meinhof phenomenon, or frequency illusion. But while I was holed up there that week, I truly thought I felt and heard them singing, shouting, weeping, and conversing. It was incredibly unsettling.
